I had never tried Chanel's Long-Wearing eyeshadows before. The color "Fatal" is quite unique -- it's a deep mauve-plummy shade with lots of silvery shimmer! Actually I would not say that it is shimmery at all; it is more of a foil-like effect and/or sheen. It's very beautiful. I love the applicator that comes with it and I recommend using this to apply the shadow and/or line your eyes or simply applying with your finger.
This formula is quite interesting and can be a bit tricky because it's a creamy, mousse-gel formula; very different from a cream shadow.
I find that it is easier to apply this shadow in thin layers because if you try to lay it on thick, you will get little "balls" (from the gel formula)....the key is to blend-blend-blend!!
My eyelids tend to get oily, so I found that using a primer before really helps the shadow hold and last a lot longer. I did wear it without a primer, and after a few hours, it seemed to just melt away. So, if you have oily eyelids, I strongly recommend using a primer first.
This eyeshadow is quite expensive (reason why I waited so long to try it), but keep in mind that the amount you are getting is HUGE! I mean, this eyeshadow will last forever! You don't need to use very much, so if you look at it that way, it is worth it.
I used this on my lid and over my crease and as eyeliner on my lower lash line. |
Better late than never, LOL. I just ordered the two of these a couple days ago, based on your photos. Thanks.
