Wal-Mart Haul: Rimmel, L'Oreal, Physicians Formula & Flower Beauty (Drew Barrymore)

I have been meaning to do this haul for some time now.  I picked-up these goodies at Wal-Mart.

Let me begin with the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Bronzing Powder, which is absolutely fabulous and a great find!  I searched all over for this powder, and ended up finding it at Wal-Mart, yay!!  I love this bronzing powder -- it gives my skin a healthy, soft glow and it is a "correcting" powder (see the swirls of color in picture).  This powder is made in "Japan", and is very good quality -- I highly recommend, if you can get your hands on one.

Next, I have the Rimmel Eyeshadow quad, in "028 -- English Breakfast".  Honestly, I have not worn this yet, but I did swatch the colors on my arm; however, it was really hard to capture the true shades in the pictures I took, so I have no swatches to show you.

The other goody I have is the L'Oreal Eyeshadow compact in "300 Rose Nude", which I thought was a beautiful rose palette for my Hazel eyes.  The colors are very pretty; however, they are very "sheer", so you must, must must wear a primer with these eyeshadows, or you will not be able to see the color and it won't last.  I tried building up the intensity, but I just could not get it with these shadows, unfortunately.  The colors are pretty, nonetheless.

Okay....lastly, (whew).....I have a new lipstick for me; I came across this makeup line at Wal-Mart called "Flower", and discovered it was launched by Actress, Drew Barrymore.  It seems like a very good line.  The lipsticks seemed very nice, so I picked up the shade "LS23 - Apricot Blossom", which is a very pretty soft apricot.  I have not even worn it yet, but I think I will love this in the spring and summer months.

Okay, that's it.  Sorry, long post here!  Thanks for stopping by and sharing a bit of your day with me!

XOXO, Bridget

Clockwise:  Flower Lipstick in "LS23 Apricot Blossom", Rimmel Eyeshadow quad in "028 English Breakfast", L'Oreal Paris Eyeshadows in "300 Rose Nude" and Physcians Formula Mineral Correcting Bronzer.  All purchased at Wal-Mart.

Physicians Formula Mineral Correcting Bronzer -- this powder is absolutely beautiful and will make your skin glow!

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore -- Lipstick in "LS23 Apricot Blossom" -- Available exclusively at Wal-Mart.

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder "Golden Light" 1

I read so many good things about this bronzing powder in the beauty magazine and on-line, so I just had to try it out for myself.  This shade "Golden Light 1" is a "matte" bronzing powder.  It's the perfect shade for my medium skintone.  This has been my go-to bronzer lately.  I also have Bobbi Brown's bronzing powder in "Bali Brown" (shimmer), which I absolutely love and wear it more in the summer months to give me that extra bronze "glow".  You can't go wrong with Bobbi Brown's bronzing powders -- you only need a small amount and they last like FOREVER!!

Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipstick #160 "Bal de Mai"

The Guerlain Rouge Automatique line has been out for several years, but I just never took much notice of them, until now.  I loved  the shade selection; beautiful beiges, corals, reds, roses.  The shade I chose is in the rose category; "Bal de Mai" #160.

I would describe this shade to me more on the coral-pink side; it is lovely, nonetheless and looks good with my coloring, especially when I have a tan.  This color would look great on medium/tan skintones.  (see pic below).

This formula is very moisturizing and lightweight and smells wonderful.  I love the lipstick case, with the slide mechanism to open the lipstick bullet; you just have to be very careful when you pull this out of your purse to apply -- just make sure you have the correct side facing "up".  I remember this sliding lipstick case from many years back -- I'm talking back in the 80s....showing my age now, LOL.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick "Beige Booster" #303 -- NEW FORMULA

I have not posted in quite awhile and I do apologize.  I seem to go through a phase where I catch-up on my blog, then life throws me another curve ball, and I fall behind again.  So, I'm trying to catch-up today.

Back in the late Summer, early Fall, Guerlain launched the "reformulated"  KISS KISS lipsticks.  I happened to walk into Saks and the gorgeous display stopped me right in my tracks!  I said to myself; "Oh my, new lippies!".  I got so excited!!  It's been several years since I purchased any Guerlain, so I was long overdo.

Guerlain display at Saks

Look at these gorgeous beauties!!  There were SO many colors to choose from; beautiful nudes, roses, bright plums, soft peach......so, I settled on what seemed to be a 'safe' shade to start off with: "Beige Booster" #303.  See pics below:

Now, this hardly looks "beige" to me -- it looks more of a pink-rose tone.  Do you see any "beige" in there?

Pic of me wearing Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in "Beige Booster" #303
This picture was taken in late Summer, so I was still tan then, but you can see this color does not look Beige at all, so I was really thrown for a loop on this one!

In conclusion, the new formula feels more lightweight than the previous Kiss Kiss lipsticks.  It still has that lovely scent that Guerlain is known for in their cosmetics.  The lipstick case is absolutely stunning in "black", instead of the gold.  I may try another color in this new formula, but I'm still not sure yet.

Dior Diorskin Nude Makeup #031 Sand

I have been experimenting with new foundations lately.  I tend to not wear liquid foundations and have been a long-time fan of Laura Mercier's Mineral Powder; however, these lightweight foundations have been increasingly popular lately and as a woman in her mid-40's, I've been noticing changes in my skin.

I recently swatched a few shades at my local Dior counter and was intrigued by the Diorskin Nude makeup.  The shade, "031- Sand" looked like a good match for me, so I asked the kind SA for a sample.  It is a medium beige with yellow undertones.

I have been wearing this for a couple of weeks now and I must say, I really do like this foundation.  Now, we are in the middle of winter, so I'm not sure how this will hold-up during the hot and humid summer.

I love the consistency of this foundation -- it's very creamy, but not thick.  I apply this foundation with my Sonia Kashuk liquid foundation brush and it applies so beautifully.  Just be careful not to apply too much, because at the end of the day, it will appear a cakey mess!  I just dust a finishing powder over, (whichever one I am currently using).  I do have to touch-up after a couple of hours to keep the shine down.

I really am enjoying this foundation.  I really don't need another foundation right now, so I'm just going to use up the sample that I have and contemplate buying it later.  Of course, the new Dior Air Nude just came out and I haven't sampled that one yet!  The Dior Air Nude is a lightweight "serum" foundation; there is also a Dior Air Powder Compact, for those ladies who like to set their makeup with powder and to carry for touch-ups.
