Maybelline Super Stay 14-Hour Lipstick: "Keep Me Coral" & "Pout On Pink"

I  had already tried L'Oreal's Infallible Le Rouge lip color and when I noticed that Maybelline came out with a similar lipstick, I had to try it out.

These are strikingly similar to L'Oreal's Infallible lippy's, other than L'Oreal's formula is "fragrance-free" and Maybelline's is not and has a very strong "fruity" smell.  I have to say it does remind me a lot of the L'Oreal Infallible lip gloss; the fragrance is identical...hmmm.  Well, Maybelline is owned by L'Oreal, so that makes sense.

I first tried the shade "Keep Me Coral", which is classified in the "red" family and the "Pout On Pink" is in the "pink/rose" family.  The "Keep me Coral" shade is very pretty and I would probably wear this shade more in the summer.  On the other hand, "Pout On Pink" is a very soft-warm-pink that is more wearable.

Every time I would stop in my local Walgreen's or CVS, I would always check-out their stock because I have not found one retailer that actually carries the full color range--so frustrating!  I noticed that Target had more selection and their price was lower too:)  Yes, I could order online, however, it is so hard to judge a color by the computer screen.

I am pleased with this lippy, just as I am with the L'Oreal version.  The fragrance is a bit strong at first, so just to give you fair warning.  I do prefer L'Oreal Infallible, because it does not have any strong scent.

The Maybelline Super Stay 14-Hour lipstick is worth a try.  It is long wearing.  I don't wear any lipstick for 14-hours, however, after about 4-hours I still had color on my lips and what else is nice about these lippy's is that you can go without a lip liner and you won't have to worry about the lipstick bleeding or smearing.  A big plus, for me!

L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick: "Infinite Spice"; "Perpetual Peach"; Brazen Bronze"; "Eternal Rose"

I love L'Oreal's Infallible Le Rouge Lipsticks!  They are highly-pigmented and long-wearing.  They feel so lightweight on your lips and are fragrance-free!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick, "Sugar Honey" (lasting shimmer)

If you have already read my previous reviews on Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipsticks, then I won't repeat myself, LOL

I was looking for a warm, bronzy-rose lippy and I originally was thinking of the shade "Sunstone", because it is a deep-bronze-rose, however, when I swatched it at my local EL counter, OMG!  It was WAY too coppery-red for me!

I also had my eye on the "Sugar Honey", which looked quite lovely.  It is more subdued and is described as a medium rosy-brown.  This is a more wearable color than the "Sunstone", imho.

I am love, love, LOVING this shade!!  It's such a gorgeous shade and the pictures do not do it justice.  It is a beautify warm rose with shimmer.  The shimmer gives a nice glow to the lips; not frosty at all.

I wore it yesterday with my EL Double Wear Lip Liner in "Tearose", which looks amazing.  I also tried it with the "Tawny" lip pencil, which I think is a better choice for every day wear.  The "Tearose" has more of a deep-mauve shade and is more intense, however, I think it looks great for evening wear; it really makes the color pop!  I'm going to experiment with some of my other "rose" lip pencils :)

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick, "Boise de Rose" (lasting creme)

I recently rediscovered Estee Lauder's Pure Color Lipsticks.  I had tried them a few years back when this formula was first introduced and I was not very impressed.  I think I may have chose the wrong color or something.  Then again, I was younger and my tastes have changed since then.  When I found out that EL had changed their formula, I decided to give it another try; and I am so glad I did!!

I went with "Boise de Rose", which is a neutral, medium-rose color.  The Pure Color lipsticks come in two formulas; lasting creme and lasting shimmer.  I wanted to get "Boise de Rose" in the "shimmer" formula because I had seen swatches of it online and really loved the color, however, I searched high and low in my local department stores and online to no avail :(  I have a hunch that EL has discontinued the "shimmer" formula, so with that, I had to go with the creme.

I really like these lippy's; they are very creamy, moisturizing and long-wearing.  As it turns out, I had to take this one back because the more I looked at it and thought it over, it was too bold and too reddish for me to wear as my "go-to" lippy.  It looks quite bold when you first apply it, but then after 3 to 4 hours, it leaves a nice stain on your lips and looks more like a lighter pinkish-red color.  It is a beautiful shade nonetheless and it is one of EL's popular sellers.  I think it would be best-suited for a woman with dark hair and olive complexion.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer, "Frozen Fantasy"

I received this "mini" EL Pure Color Nail Lacquer in "Frozen Fantasy" in a GWP last year.  It is really a lovely color.  It is a nude-pink frost, but not too frosty.

I love the EL nail lacquers; the quality is exceptional.  The color is gorgeous and long-wearing.  This nail lacquer applies so smoothly and has a high-shine finish.  I had a problem in the past with some nail polishes "bubbling" on me and EL's formula is a non- issue. No bubbles!  Yay!! ;)

NARS Sheer Lipstick, "Sexual Healing"

I kinda split-up with NARS for awhile, but now I am back and rediscovering his wonderful lippy's again!

I love NARS sheer lipsticks; they are so smooth and creamy and very pigmented, for a "sheer" formula.  They feel so lightweight on the lips.  The sheer formula comes in 29 beautiful shades, so you are sure to find the shade that is right for you!

I recently purchased "Sexual Healing" at my local Sephora store.  Nars describes this shade as a "shimmering pink blossom".  The color looks different depending on the lighting in the room.  At one glance, it appeared more light and shimmery pink, and another glance/different lighting, it appeared more of a "soft, pinky-brown" with shimmer.  It's so difficult to describe, yet so beautiful! This is a very unique color and that is one of the things that I love most about it.

Actually, I think I was really drawn to "Sexual Healing" because it reminds me a lot of a discontinued shade called "Tutti Frutti", that I think NARS has discontinued or maybe it was a LE, but I loved, LOVED that color.  It was the prettiest soft lilac/mauve with frost and I loved to wear that one in the summer months.  I miss it :(

NARS "Sexual Healing" has a lot of shimmer in it and that may turn some girls off.  I actually think it's quite pretty.  The more you layer-on the color, the more intense the shimmer becomes.  I find that one light application is all you need.  After the lipstick has set, the finish looks so gorgeous and glowy!

Actually, I had some other shades on my wish list.  I was thinking that I would really like "Pago Pago" (new), which is described as a "shimmering pink", however, it seemed to be much lighter and more of a nude-pink to my eyes.

I was also considering "Roman Holiday", which is a pretty pastel-pink, but was much too bright for me.

I also wanted to check-out "Tzigane", (not even sure how you pronounce that one, lol)...which is described as a "pink-brandy" shade.  My Sephora store did not have this shade probably due to the fact that it is a new shade.  I will have to check back soon.

I am loving "Sexual Healing" and am very pleased with my choice.  This shade will look incredible in the summer months!

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick, "Organdi Rose"

I love the Rouge Coco's; they are so silky and moisturizing.  I recently purchased "Organdi Rose", which is a deep rosey-mauve shade; it's a little more bold than I was looking for, nonetheless, it's very pretty.  I don't think this will be my "go-to", "every day" lippy.

The Rouge Coco's apply so smoothly and are very moisturizing and long-wearing.  I love the scent, which Chanel is famous for in their lippy's.  I would describe it as a rose scent; it's very subtle and not over-powering at all, imo.  The metal black case and double "C's" stamp is so chic!

Lip Combo with L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lip Color & Chanel Glossimer

I am loving the L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lip Colors; I already own four of them.  I will be doing a review on those lippy's very soon, so be sure to stay-tuned;)

I've discovered a beautiful lip combo with my L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lip Color in "Eternal Rose" and my Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss in "Twinkle".  They go so well together!  So, I thought I would share with ya....here it is:

Chanel Glossimer "Twinkle" & L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lip Color "Eternal Rose"

Chanel Glossimer "Brilliance", "Twinkle", "Sweet Beige" & "Glow"

I am a "Glossimer Girl".  I've been a long-time fan of Chanel cosmetics, especially the Glossimer lippy's!

These glosses are "gel-based", which means they apply smoother and are not sticky-feeling.  I also love that Chanel's Glossimers are "fragrance free".  They come in a huge array of shades; you can't just have one!

Color Description:

*Brilliance: Pale pink with silver pearl
Twinkle: Pink with gold pearl
Sweet Beige: Peachy-Pink-Beige (subtle pearl)
*Glow: Soft warm bronze pearl

Brilliance is a smokin' color....I absolutely LOVE it.  This looks amazing with a pink lip liner; love to wear this during the summer months -- looks awesome with a tan!  So chic!

Twinkle, I would have to say is my second-best shade; It's a gorgeous (I know I use that word a lot, but it is true)....pink with gold pearl.........so beautiful.  Looks amazing when the light reflects all the pearlescent shades!  Really makes your lips stand out!

Every girl should have at least one or several, in my opinion!  I have owned many Glossimers over the years; here is my current collection:

L to R:  Chanel Glossimer "Brilliance", "Twinkle", "Sweet Beige" & "Glow"

*Please Note:  "Brilliance" and "Glow" are from older stock (clear labels); so the numbers may have changed.  It's best to refer to the "name" and not the number when referring to a particular shade.

MAC Lipglass, "Nymphette" and "Prrr"

I am a huge fan of MAC's Lipglass!  My two faves are "Nymphette", which is a beautiful golden-pink color and "Prrr" is a pretty peachy-pink color.  These glosses look amazing with a coordinating lip liner.

These are my "go-to" lip glosses when I just don't know what to wear because they always look great, no matter what you are wearing!  MAC Lipglass feels so smooth and creamy when you apply and they are pretty long-lasting for a lip gloss.

The tube seems kinda small, but don't let that deceive you because they last a long time.  The sponge applicator and shorter wand make it so easy to apply.  Gotta love that caramel-vanilla scent!
