Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Makeup -- # 30 & 40 Beige

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Makeup --  #30 & 40 Beige -- I've had my eyes on this new foundation which gives a matte finish, so I got a couple of samples to try from the nice Chanel Sales Rep at Nordy's.  It looked like I could wear #30 or #40, but I think I could even wear the #50, especially during the summer months, when I am tan.

When I tried this foundation at the counter, I fell in love!  It's so smooth and gives your skin such a soft finish with a glow.  Plus, I always love that rose scent that Chanel uses!

I have oily/combination in the skin and my skin tends to be more oily in the summer months, and I also live in South Florida (heat and humidity), so I usually stick with a mineral powder foundation, but decided to check this one out, since it is lightweight and provides a matte finish.

What I love about Chanel is that they give such a good choice of shades, so it's not too hard to find the one that is right for you!

This formula gives a sheer finish, although very lovely.  If you have a lot of imperfections you want to cover up, this may not work for you on it's own, but you could apply a finishing powder over for added coverage, if you wish.

I know it's very hard to tell from pictures, but here it is blended on my hand -- you can see how sheer it is, but you can see the soft, matte finish it gives.  Very nice!

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire -- "Rose Melody" & "Caramel Solo"

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire -- "Caramel Solo" --  You've probably heard or seen these new lippies.  I knew they were out for a while, but never ventured to try them.  Walgreen's was having a BOGO, so I decided to take advantage, plus I got an additional $2.00 Off with manufacturers coupon!  Yay!!

I have to be honest; I usually don't get too excited about drugstore brands, but L'Oreal has really stepped it up with these new lippies that are sort of a hybrid, if you will as they impart gloss characteristics, with a balm, plus moisturizing properties.  It's really hard to describe; you just have to try them for yourself.

I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised with these and even went back to buy another one before the sale ended.  I love "Rose Melody", which is a beautiful warm rose.  So far, I have "Rose Melody", "Caramel Solo", and I just picked up "Nude Ballet" (pic not posted yet).

This formula applies so light and the high-shine is amazing!  The shine lasts and lasts, until you drink, eat or wipe it off.  I had mine on for about 4-5 hours and it was still shiny!  I love the texture of this formula and it has a nice soft scent too.  This gloss has good pigmentation and it is VERY moisturizing!  I had mine on for well over 5-hours and my lips felt incredibly moisturized and soft.

The packaging is super cute too; however I would prefer the case to be a matte finish, rather than polished, because it attracts fingerprints like crazy!  I love how they featured a little "window", if you will, so you can see the color -- which is a pretty good match of how the color actually looks.  I love the applicator too -- it picks up just the right amount and applies with little effort.

Only thing I'm not a fan of is that L'Oreal does not put a "seal" on their lip products.  I'm not sure why because they use sanitary seals for their powders, etc.  With that, I had to be very careful with selecting one, because they don't have testers in the drugstore, as you know.

Have any of you tried these lovely lippies yet?

This picture was taken AFTER 5-hours of wear -- see the shine?  This gloss is truly amazing and paired with a lip liner, it lasts even longer.  I was afraid it would fade and slide off, but it did not budge!

Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation -- Warm 3 (medium skintone)

Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation -- Warm 3 --  I have often thought of trying this mineral powder foundation, but I find it so hard to part from my beloved Laura Mercier pressed mineral foundation.  I was in Whole Foods one day and just decided to give it a go.

I read so many positive reviews on this mineral powder, which is packed with natural, skin-soothing ingredients such as aloe and cucumber.  This mineral powder gives a light to full coverage finish.  The shade I chose was "Warm 3", which is the darkest shade in the warm tones.  I found the neutral tones too light for me.

I applied this with my fluffy powder brush and it applied very nicely, with no build-up.  My skin wasn't recently exfoliated, so I'm sure I would have gotten better results had I exfoliated first.

Mineral Fusion's website says this is a light to full coverage foundation and I found that after 2-3 applications, it looked quite nice and there was no cakiness whatsoever.  There were some redness still showing through my skin, but overall, I was impressed with this mineral powder foundation.

I picked my up at Whole Foods market for $29.99 (.032 oz.), plus I had a manufacturers coupon for $3.00, which was a great deal.  I love coupons...yay!!

Overall, I feel this is a great mineral powder foundation that is good for your skin, and is a good value also.  I love the packaging as well; which is very sleek and does not take up much space in your bag or cosmetic case.
Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation -- Warm 3

Warm 3 may appear dark here, but it's not really very dark.  I have medium skintone and I tan in the summer and I could even go a shade darker.

Me, wearing Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation "Warm 3" -- This picture was taken about 4-5 hours after application.  You can see some redness on my forehead and chin.  Even when I tried layering more powder, it still did not cover my redness, but I still love this foundation, nonetheless.  You can see I'm in need of some powder.  I've been loving Pur Minerals'
Oil Control Powder, which I have previously reviewed.

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream (normal/combo skin)

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream --  I was on the hunt for a new gel-cream.  My Boots No7 Rebalancing Day Gel had been discontinued and I was SO sad.  So, off I went on my quest to find another gel-cream, which was affordable.  I know MAC, Clarins and Chanel make some wonderful gel-creams, but they aren't in my budget right now, LOL.

I love using a gel-cream in the summer months because they are light and refreshing.  The Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel-Cream provides good moisturization without that heavy feel and is oil-free.  I find this gel-cream very refreshing to use after a day at the pool or the beach in the hot sun!

Bobbi Brown Lip Color "Plum Shimmer"

Bobbi Brown Lip Color "Plum Shimmer" -- I loved Bobbi's shimmer lipsticks, but she discontinued them (my favorite was Kir Shimmer)....  So, when I heard about these new lippies, I could not wait to try.  These shimmer lippies are different than the previous one's she made.

I chose the shade "Plum Shimmer", which is really pretty; however it was darker than I had anticipated and had to take it back.  It does not appear too dark (with flash), but it is a rich plum, which is more suited for someone with olive or darker skintones.  I do love the new formula, however and it has a very slight scent, which is nice.  The formula is very creamy and moisturizing.  I will be picking up another shade very soon!

Pur Minerals "Balancing Act" Shine Control Powder

Pur Minerals "Balancing Act" Shine Control Powder -- Love, love, loving this powder!!  I was in Kohl's one day, checking out their cosmetics department (Yes, Kohl's carries Pur Minerals....yay!) and came across this beautiful powder that can be used alone, or over foundation to help control shine and gives a flawless finish!  I love the marbleized formula -- so cool.  I applied this over Pur Minerals CC cream, which is also fabulous, by the way and I plan on picking that up soon!

Anywho....I was so impressed with this powder that I just had to have it.  So far, I tried wearing it alone, which is great, but it does not really give much coverage on it's own, but when you wear it over your mineral foundation or whichever foundation you love, it just gives your skin such a beautiful, soft-focus and natural finish (see pic below).  It's hard to describe; you just have to see it for yourself!

I love this product.  I got mine at Kohl's for $25.  After about 5-hours, I did have some shine in my T-zone, but it worked quite well.  This is a powder I would purchase again.

Me, wearing Pur Minerals "Balancing Act" Shine Control Powder -- it just seems to give a nice, soft-focus glow to my skin!  Love-love!!

Essie Nail Polish "Romper Room"

Essie Nail Polish - "Romper Room" (Spring/Summer 2014).  My New Love!!  This is my second favorite nail color (next to Fiji).  Romper Room is a tad paler than Fiji and is such a beautiful, soft pale pink -- so pretty for spring/summer!  I took a couple of pics in different lighting -- this pic is under indoor lighting.

Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream (Normal/Oily)

Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream (Normal/Oily) -  I was shopping at my local Target and noticed that they recently remodeled the cosmetic department.  How exciting!  I was happy to see the new Boots No7 shelves were re-stocked.  I was beginning to worry when I saw the shelves were getting bared, but the representative for No.7 told me they didn't want to re-stock the shelves until the remodeling was done.  The shelves are now well-lit, which makes it much easier to see the products, plus making it more appealing to the eye.

No.7 has revamped it's line and I have to say I was quite disappointed when I could not find my rebalancing day fluid for combo skin and the day gel.  The representative informed me that the day fluid was replaced with the "Beautiful Skin Day Cream" -- oh, such confusion!!  LOL

Now, I usually prefer a "lotion/fluid" because they are lightweight and more suitable for my oily/combination skin; however, after using this for a couple of days, I have come to like this day cream.  I did prefer the "pump" (bottle) as apposed to the jar, but oh well.  It's hard when you find a product you love and then they go and change things!

This day cream has a nice consistency and a slight fragrance, which is from the natural ingredients.  This day cream helps to balance and mattify the skin, and with the hot summer month's approaching, this day cream will be put to the test!  I apply this a few minutes before I apply my foundation, to give it time to absorb into the skin.

Very pleased with this product so far.

Too Faced Cosmetics "Better Than Sex" Mascara

Too Faced Cosmetics "Better Than Sex" Mascara -- I read all the hype about this mascara, so I recently picked up a tube at Sephora.  There are new mascara's coming out every day and it seems overwhelming and I usually stick to drugstore mascara's (L'Oreal & Cover Girl), but decided to splurge this time.

The packaging is very high-end and the tube has a good weight to it.  I love the "hourglass" shaped brush which makes the application incredibly easy and I noticed "instant" volume to my thin and sparse eyelashes!  Impressed!!  Two coats applied nicely, without any clumps.  After about 5-hours or so, I did notice some "smearing" under my eyes, otherwise, it stayed on pretty well until I washed it off at night.  The enriched formula made my eyelashes feel very soft.

Mascara's are a hit or miss; and I would have to say I would buy this one again, if I wanted to spend $23 on mascara.  Made in Italy.

Layered on another coat to add more volume and drama (about 3 coats)
3 coats to top lashes
