OPI Nail Polish: OPI Red

OPI in "OPI Red" -- Pictured here with flash.  I recently got my mani done in OPI's "OPI Red"  --  Now, I am not a huge lover of the color red but since it is the holidays season and all, I decided to get something festive.  This is actually a nice "red" with just a hint of pearlescent glow, if you will.  This is a nice, clean red -- not orange or burgundy, just RED.  This is actually a color that I would purchase and wear again!

FOTD: Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Clarins, Dior, Senna Cosmetics and Lancome

Can you believe we are in the holiday season already?!  My gosh...time is going so fast.  I have been so busy lately with Thanksgiving and now planning for Christmas that I have neglected my blog so I decided to log on and do a FOTD....

Pictured here I am wearing Laura Mercier Eyeshadow Stick in Amethyst, Bobbi Brown Bronzer in "Bali Brown" and Clarins Blush Prodige "Peach", and Senna Cosmetics Setting Powder.  On Lips I am wearing Lancome Fever Gloss in "Delirium" and Revlon Lip Liner in "Pink", although I think it's too pink for this pale pink gloss.  On my brows I used Dior in "Universal Brown".

May you all have a wonderful holiday season!!

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser (Foaming Formula)

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser (Foaming Formula) --  I used this facial cleanser for a few months.  It is a clear, foaming gel.  I think I liked using this during the hot summer months however, now that we are in the winter season, this cleanser seems to be a bit too drying for my skin.  I have oily/combo skin.

This is a pretty nice cleanser for the price however, one thing I don't care for is that it has a slight fragrance.  This is supposed to be a "ultra gentle" cleanser, so I'm not sure why Neutrogena decided to put fragrance in it.  I would prefer it to be fragrance-free.

All-in-all, it is a good cleanser however, if you have normal or dry skin, I would not recommend it, unless you moisturize very well afterwards.

Lancome Color Fever Gloss - "Inferno" & "Delirium"

Lancome Color Fever Gloss - "Inferno" & "Delirium"  --  I love both of these glosses.  Lancome Color Fever Gloss is one of my all-time favorites lip glosses.  They are very creamy and last longer than the average lipgloss.
Top: "Inferno" - a pale beige-peachy color
Bottom: "Delirium" - a pale lilac pink -- so gorgeous!

Swatch - Top: "Inferno"  Bottom: "Delirium"

I love the applicator wand!  It makes application so easy and precise!  (Delirium shown)

Dior Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care Lipstick " 565 Vogue"

Dior Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care Lipstick "565 Vogue" -- Dior has reformulated the Rouge Dior lipsticks for their 60th Anniversary (Fall 2013) and have also added some new colors and redesigned the lipstick case and packaging as well.

I originally had my eye on two other completely different colors, but somehow this color "565 Vogue" kept speaking to me.  It is a bright
fuchsia shade which turned out to be surprisingly not as intense as I thought it would be.  I don't have any fuchsia lipsticks in my collection, so I thought this would be a lovely choice.

The packaging and lipstick case has changed slightly.  The previous Rouge Dior had the iconic "quilt" print all over the case; now it is just the opposite with the "quilt" print only on the silver part and the rest of the case is smooth.  I like how they changed the "CD" initials on the top of the case also!

This new formula is ultra-silky and applies so smoothly.  It feels very lightweight on the lips however, the color is rich and intense!  Rouge Dior still has that lovely "rose" scent that I love.  I could not believe that when I looked in the mirror after about 5-hours of wear, it still looked gorgeous!  The color had barely worn off and my lips felt so soft and moisturized.

While I love this new formula, I think they could have shortened the name a bit, don't you think?  This new formula of Rouge Dior lipstick is amazing and worth adding to your lipstick collection.

F&NOTD: Chanel & OPI

I have not done a FOTD in a while.  I'm calling this "Face and Nails Of The Day", LOL

Me and my Husband recently celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary and his Birthday.  I did not realize nor did I plan at the time, but I ended up being dressed in "plums" that evening!  My eyeshadow, lips, nails and even my dress was plum!  Anywho, it was a beautiful evening!

Pictured here I am wearing CHANEL Illusion D'Ombre Long-Wearing Eyeshadow in "Fatal" (Fall 2013 Collection)

CHANEL Glossimer in "Blizzard" on lips

OPI "Meet me on the Star Ferry (2011 Fall Collection)

OPI Nail Lacquer "Meet me on the Star Ferry" (Fall 2011 Collection)

OPI "Meet me on the Star Ferry" (with flash)

I've been wearing a lot of nudes and pinky-nudes on my nails lately so I decided I wanted to go with something darker since we are in the Fall Season now.  This color looks even more pretty on than it does in the bottle!  It's a gorgeous deep-mauve with the most beautiful shimmer.  In different lighting it appears more purple (think of grape soda).  Me Loves!

CHANEL Fall 2013 Lips & Eyes "Indecise & Fatal"

CHANEL Fall Collection 2013 -- Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour "Indecise 125" and Illusion D'Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadow "Fatal 837" --  I love Chanel's Rouge Allure lipstick and the shade "Indecise" was one of those shades that I really thought I would not like, so I passed on it.  Well, after another look online, I thought I would give it a try.  I am so glad I did because this is a lovely pink-beige shade and it looks fabulous with a nude lip liner pencil.  I thought to myself: "Do I really need another beigey-nude-pink" lipstick?  Ha-ha!  But oh...wait...this one is different...it's not your usual pinky-beige-nude!

I adore Chanel's packaging!  The Rouge Allure lipstick tube has a clever design: You push-in the bottom of the tube to open!

I had never tried Chanel's Long-Wearing eyeshadows before.  The color "Fatal" is quite unique -- it's a deep mauve-plummy shade with lots of silvery shimmer!  Actually I would not say that it is shimmery at all; it is more of a foil-like effect and/or sheen.  It's very beautiful.  I love the applicator that comes with it and I recommend using this to apply the shadow and/or line your eyes or simply applying with your finger.

This formula is quite interesting and can be a bit tricky because it's a creamy, mousse-gel formula; very different from a cream shadow.

I find that it is easier to apply this shadow in thin layers because if you try to lay it on thick, you will get little "balls" (from the gel formula)....the key is to blend-blend-blend!!

My eyelids tend to get oily, so I found that using a primer before really helps the shadow hold and last a lot longer.  I did wear it without a primer, and after a few hours, it seemed to just melt away.  So, if you have oily eyelids, I strongly recommend using a primer first.

This eyeshadow is quite expensive (reason why I waited so long to try it), but keep in mind that the amount you are getting is HUGE!  I mean, this eyeshadow will last forever!  You don't need to use very much, so if you look at it that way, it is worth it.

I used this on my lid and over my crease and as eyeliner on my lower lash line.

Comparison: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation vs Shiseido Sheer & Perfect Foundation

Sample of Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation in BR 52 (beige-rose shade).

I wanted to try a sample of this foundation and the Chanel Consultant said BR52 would be a good match for me.  Now, I was a bit hesitant because I never wear any foundation that has "rose" in it -- I usually stick with a yellow-based foundation, but she assured me this shade would work for me.  Keep in mind I still have color from being in the sun this summer and I do live in South Florida, so it's still warm here even though we are going in to November.

Anywho....I used this sample for a couple of days and I really love how it applies and blends so effortlessly.  I love how it gives a luminous finish to the skin.  Now, I usually stay FAR away from liquid foundations because I have oily/combination skin and I live in South Florida, but I was willing to give this a try as this is a good foundation in the warm months as it is water-based and gives a sheer coverage.  Don't let the sheer coverage fool you because this foundation is buildable and covered all my imperfections and redness very well and I was pleasantly surprised.

Finally, I am very impressed with this foundation and I would purchase it, even though it is quite pricey, but I think I would pick a beige shade instead.  Also, this does have a nice light rose fragrance, which I just love about Chanel.  Some people may be bothered by that, but I happen to like it.

The Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation applies like a dream and makes the skin look so luminous!  The formula is sheer however it is quite buildable and gives a smooth finish.

Sample: Shiseido Sheer & Perfect Foundation in shade O60 (ochre shade)

Shiseido Sheer & Perfect Foundation -- I like how this foundation applied however, it did feel "heavier" on my skin and did not look as luminous and control shine as well as the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation.  Choosing a shade was quite difficult.  I went with an Ochre shade, which is yellow-based.  The Ivory shades were too light and the beige shades seemed too pink for my skin.

Senna Cosmetics Mineral Mix Pressed Cover & Finish Foundation and Secret Set Finishing Powder

Senna Cosmetics founder, Eugenia Weston is an acclaimed make-up artist who has been making actors and celebrities in Hollywood as well as around the globe beautiful for more than 20-years.  She became famous for her patented eye brow stencil kit and her lip glosses.

Today, I am featuring Senna Cosmetics Mineral Mix Pressed Cover & Finish Foundation and her Secret Set Finishing Powder.  Her powders are talc-free and fragrance-free.  Both of these powders are finely-milled.

The first thing I loved about these powders was the packaging.  Eugenia redesigned all of her packaging and they know come beautifully packaged in an elegant black box and the compact itself is dressed in black with a lacquered finish -- so beautiful and looks more upscale than her previous packaging.

I also love that there is a compartment to hold the sponge for touch-ups.

These powders are very finely-milled and the Secret Set Finishing Powder is translucent and barely noticeable on the skin.  I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and I just love it.  It does not build-up on your skin or look cakey.  It helps keep the shine down on my oily/combination skin for about 3 to 4 hours.

The Mineral Mix Pressed Powder I chose was "Light" -- thinking I would be able to use it during the winter months, when I am not tan.  Well, it is a little lighter than I had anticipated, but I think I will still be able to wear it under my bronzing powder.  I wore the "medium" shade a few years ago and as I recall, her medium shade is much deeper than the light shade.  The coverage is medium, so if you are looking for a powder with full-coverage, you may not be totally satisfied.

In closing, I am very pleased with both of these powders and you really can't go wrong with Senna Cosmetics.  Eugenia is a pro and her products have to live up to her high standards.

Senna Cosmetics are available through her website at Sennacosmetics.com

Me wearing Senna Cosmetics Secret Set Finishing Powder -- I am really loving this finishing powder!  It's very silky and natural looking and does not look cakey or oxidize through the day.  It helps keep my oily/combo complexion matte for about 3-hours or so.

Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss "Blizzard" 19

I have had my eye on "Blizzard" for a while now and since I have not purchased a Glossimer in quite some time, I decided now was a good time!  I know people get tired of this but, OMG!!  OMG!!  I love this gloss!  No other lip gloss compares to CHANEL Glossimer!  Nothing - not even close!  I love the way Glossimers apply and how creamy they are -- no sticky gloss here!  And the colors....fabulous!  "Blizzard" is a gorgeous rosey-mauve with shimmer.  It is so beautiful that I can't even describe it.  Why didn't I get this sooner?!
