Sea Breeze Facial Wash

I picked up this Sea Breeze Facial Wash at my local Dollar Tree store.  This is a very nice, gentle cleanser with a subtle scent.  I was pleasantly surprised with how well it cleaned my face, and was not drying at all.

I always read labels on everything, so when I saw "FT Shiseido Company Limited", I was like: "Is this the Shiseido cosmetic company?, and the answer is "YES".  Shiseido purchased the Sea Breeze brand.  Very interesting, indeed!

Le Metier De Beaute -- Colour Core Lipstick "Marrakech"

I've been loving this lipstick by Le Metier De Beaute in "Marrakech" -- It is a lovely peachy-pink-nude.  It's a great shade to wear with a more dramatic eye.

The formula is high-pigmented, yet moisturizing and long-wearing.  I have my eye on another shade called "Ibiza".  Some of the shades are hard to get and may be discontinued.

Le Metier De Beaute is available at Neiman Marcus and online.

Nex Gen Nails #40

I sincerely apologize for not posting any reviews on my blog lately.  Life has been a roller coaster for me lately that I have not had the time to focus my energies on my blog.

I started getting Nex Gen Nails about a couple of months ago, and so far, I am enjoying them.  Previously, I was getting UV Liquid Gel, which I was very happy with however; Nex Gen lasts a lot longer and so far, I have not had any chips or problems.

The only thing I would recommend is make sure you have a good nail tech who does them, because a couple of times, the finish was kinda "lumpy" in areas and "small bubbles" appeared.  If done properly, your nails will look natural and beautiful for several weeks.  I have been getting mine done about once a month.

This shade (pictured) is #40, which is a lovely pale pink color.  It's a very wearable, natural shade.  You will see from the pics below how it looks in different lighting.

Clairol Herbal Essences Naked -- Dry Shampoo

There are so many dry shampoo's on the market these days.  I tried one made by John Frieda a few months ago, and I did not care for the strong scent, so I rarely ever used it.  I happened to be grocery shopping one day, and saw this Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo, which was on sale, so I decided to try it.  I have to say, dry shampoo's have really come a long way -- there are some very nice one's out there that don't smell so heavy.  This one happens to smell very nice!

The Clairol Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo is perfect to use, in-between shampoo's to absorb excess oil.  I have an oily scalp, and even more so in the summer month's, so this stuff is a must have!  When you apply it, you have to shake-shake-shake and then spray at your roots and rub it in and then brush or comb through.  This stuff REALLY works!  My roots immediately looked cleaner (not oily).  This stuff really does the trick when you are in a hurry.

Lancome Visionnaire - Advanced Skin Corrector (serum)

I received a sample size of this serum a few months ago with a GWP at my Lancome counter, but never got around to trying it.  Well, I tried the sample and I noticed my skin started to look more clear and radiant after a couple of weeks.  I was getting down to the last drop and knew that I had to pick up a bottle ASAP!  It's a bit pricey, but for a serum, it's well-justified.

This serum helps to correct uneven skin tone, reduce pore size, wrinkles and helps give a clearer complexion over-all.  The formula is  very lightweight, and non-greasy and I love how it absorbs right into my skin.  You can apply this serum day or night, but I have been only applying at night, before bed.

If I use it twice a day, I will run out sooner; so, I'm trying to make it last.  It has a subtle scent also, which I don't mind.  It's not very often that I buy "high-end" skin care, but I feel this product is worth it, since I can see the results!

Alba Botanica "Even Advanced Enzyme Scrub & Cleansing Gel"

I recently discovered this brand at Whole Foods Market.  The cleansing gel is very nice and leaves my skin feeling clean, not dry.  I did not particularly care for the scent it has; almost like a manly scent, if you will.  Other than that, it's a great gel cleanser, especially in the summertime.

The enzyme scrub is also very nice for when you want a light exfoliation and to freshen-up your skin.  I would not call this a heavy-duty exfoliant; it's gentle enough to use several times a week.

Make Up For Ever Mat Bronze Bronzing Powder #20 "Honey"

I've read great reviews about this MUFE Mate Bronze powder, so I was eager to try it out.

The packaging is very nice; I like how there is a little window, so you can see the powder.  The compact has a magnetic closure, and beneath the powder is a powder puff, which is nice; however, I really have no need for it as I use a brush to apply.

The shade I chose was #20, which is called "Honey".  This is their most popular shade.  This is a very natural shade that you can wear year-round; however, it was hard to detect on my medium skin tone, and especially now that it is summer and I have a tan.  I think this shade will work great for me during the winter months.

The only thing I can say negative about this mate bronze powder is the scent.  I really don't care for it and not sure why MUFE added such a strong scent.  The smell seems to dissipate after you've applied the powder, or you just don't notice it as much.

This is a great mate bronze powder and reasonably priced as well.

Shiseido Shimmering Rouge "BE 303" (Ingenue), "RS 310 (Brocade) & "RD 713" (Discretion)

Shiseido Shimmering Rouge "RS 310 (Brocade)
Shiseido Shimmering Rouge "RS 310" -- Brocade
I haven't purchased any Shiseido in a long time, until recently.  I recently did a review on the Lacquer Rouge, which I absolutely love!  This is review is on the Shimmering Rouge -- which I also love!  They are fabulous, let me tell you ladies!  I don't know what took me so long to try these lippies.  I guess I was hesitant because I thought they would be similar to YSL Volupte Shines and Chanels Rouge Shines, but they're not the same.

The Shiseido Shimmering Rouges are very creamy, pigmented and give your lips a luminous finish!  I was afraid that the formula would be too "glittery", but it's not at all.

I love the packaging -- so elegant and the size of the lipstick tube makes it so easy to apply.  The formula is very long-wearing and moisturizing and I was pleasantly surprised at how long it stayed on my lips and did not slide off my lips, even without a lip liner.

The two shades I purchased are "BE 303" Ingenue, which is a beautiful golden beige color -- I absolutely love!  The shade "RD 713" Discretion is not what you would think of as "red" at all.  This color is a shimmering plum -- very pretty!

The only thing negative that I have to say about these lippies is that the shade "RD 713 - Discretion" had a strange "musty" smell and when I applied it, I kept getting this weird musty taste in my mouth that did not go away.  On my trip to the Mall, I took it back and exchanged it for another one.  These don't have any fragrance or strange tastes, so if you detect any strange smell or taste, like the lipstick is going bad, take it back immediately.  I may have gotten old stock or it was a bad batch or something.  This almost never happens to me.  A lot of cosmetics now have batch codes stamped on them, usually a number or letter, or an expiration date, so you know how fresh it is.

Other than that, the Shimmering Rouges are fabulous.

My Birthday Gift from Sephora! Make Up For Ever

I am a Sephora VIB Member and I recently got this sweet package for my B-Day -- It's a cute little lippie and mascara, from MUFE!!  The lipstick is so small and cute!  I have not tried MUFE's mascara yet, so I will do a review in the near-future.  xox, B2B

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick "Rose" 17

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick "Rose" 17 --  I love these lippies and I recently picked-up the shade "Rose" #17 and absolutely love it.  The color reminds me of a Pink Peony (my favorite flower).  Elizabeth Arden's Ceramide Ultra Lipsticks are so creamy, hydrating and long-wearing and the color wears off beautifully.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick "Spiked Toffee"

Estee Lauder Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick "Spiked Toffee" --   I love EL Pure Color Lipsticks, but  I never tried the "Vivid Shine" formula, which is a more sheer lipstick with high shine, but not as sheer and glossy as the Pure Color Crystal Lipsticks.

I chose the shade "Spiked Toffee", which is a gorgeous warm-caramel color that is great for when you want to do a nude lip.  This is a great nude lip color for women with medium-to-dark skintones.

The packaging is identical to the Pure Color Lipsticks, so be aware of the different formulas on the labels.  The Vivid Shine Lipstick has good pigment, for a sheer lipstick and give a beautiful shine.  After 2-4 hours of wear, I still had color on my lips, but the shine faded; however, my lips still felt moisturized even hours later.

This is a nice lipstick; however, I still love the original formula better.

NexGen Nails

NexGen Nails --  Color pictured here is "110" -- A soft, pale pink.

My Nail Tech has been trying to sell me on this new nail application.  I have been getting UV Liquid Gel Nails (overlay on natural nails) for over a year and have been very happy with them; however, my Nail Tech was telling me how great the NexGen Nails are.

What it is and how it works:  The Nail Tech applies a bonding liquid over your natural nails, then dips your nails into a colored powder of your choice, usually 2 or 3 dips, then buffs and files the nails, then applies a finishing top coat, and your done!  The dry time is very short and you don't have to worry about messing up your nail polish.  I have had mine for 2-weeks now, and so far they are holding up very well -- no chips.

I was skeptical at first because I love how the UV Liquid Gel overlay is so natural looking -- I didn't want my nails to look fake.  The only thing I don't like about NexGen, is that if you want to change your color on your next nail appointment, they have to soak your nail and remove the layer of NexGen color.  With acrylic or UV Liquid Gel, you don't need to do that.  So, it's an extra step.  Another thing that kinda annoyed me was the price.

NexGen nails are slightly higher than UV Liquid Gel, which I don't understand why, because the Nail Tech is actually doing "less" work (less labor-intensive).  The other thing that bothered me was on my right hand, the finish didn't look as good and I'm not sure if the Nail Tech did a "rush job", or did not finish or apply the final coat well enough, because there were some tiny "bumps" after he applied the top coat.  I pointed this out to him, and he didn't seem to think it was a big deal.  Well, "I" am the one paying for the service!

I dunno if I'm going to stay with NexGen nails.....I'm still on the fence about it

Dolce & Gabbana "Light Blue" EDT Spray - GWP Summer 2014

Dolce & Gabbana "Light Blue" EDT Spray - GWP Summer 2014  --   I wanted this for my Birthday, so my Husband picked it up for me (he's such a sweetie).  Dolce & Gabbana is running a promotion now; with any large purchase, you get this beautiful beach towel.  What they don't tell you up-front is that you have to buy the largest size (3.3. oz), in order to get the beach towel.  I told the nice sales girl at Dillard's that my Husband will be stopping by to pick it up for me and she assured me that I would get the beach towel with "any" purchase.  However, when I showed up with my Husband, it was a different story.  She said the GWP only comes with the 3.3 oz. size and I assured her the other sales girl told me differently.  To make a long story short, they were both very kind and gave it to me anyway.  This really made my day!

The beach towel is gorgeous (see pic below).  It came packaged in beautiful gift box.  The box is so beautiful that I'm going to keep it.

I have wanted this fragrance for a very long time, and when I saw this gorgeous beach towel, now was a good time to pick it up!

Dolce & Gabbana "Light Blue" is a wonderful summertime scent.  It's so light and fresh -- I love wearing this!

Pur Minerals CC Cream "Medium" SPF 40 & Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Blending Brush No. 130

Pur Minerals CC Cream "Medium" SPF 40 --  Color Complexion Correction

There are dozens of "CC" Creams on the market and I have been reluctant to take the plunge and purchase one because I haven't found the right one, until I saw that Pur Minerals came out with a "CC" Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 40.

I was a little reluctant at first to get this, because of the $38 price tag; however, you do get 1.5 ounces of product, versus many of the other CC Creams on the market, which only give you about 1 ounce and cost more.  I do wish they had a larger size though because the tube feels so light and I don't want to run out of this, and there is no way of telling how much is left in the tube.  I will need to purchase another one soon, so I have on back-up, LOL.

I chose the shade "Medium", which I can use year-round.  I was going to buy the "Tan", but ULTA was actually out of the tan, so I took a chance on the "Medium", which is perfect for me!  The medium shade has a good tone and it's not pink or peachy -- it's a neutral beige.

The packaging is a tube with a pump dispenser.  I would prefer a tube so that you can "squeeze" the product out, which makes getting every drop of product much easier.  Other bloggers have complained about this also.

As far as the application and coverage, I had to experiment a few times until I got the application down right and got the coverage I needed.  I have sensitive skin, with a lot of redness on my cheeks and my skin is oily/combo.  When I first started using this, I applied one pump to the top of my hand and used my Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Buffing Brush No. 130 (see below) to pick up the cream and then apply and blend in downward strokes.  I found this CC cream very easy to blend and it did cover my redness and discolorations very well; however, I realized that I was using too much product.  I was using about 3 pumps for my entire face, and I found that using 1 pump, then dotting it all over my face, THEN blending with my Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Buffing Brush worked much better.  You don't need to apply very much of this CC Cream to get good coverage and finish.

The formula says it is "matte"; however, I use my Pur Minerals Balancing Act powder after applying the CC Cream to keep down the shine.  We are in the middle of summer, and this heat and humidity does a number on my oily/combo skin!

Another thing I love is that this CC Cream has SPF 40.  I was a bit scared at first to use this because it has a high SPF.  I was afraid it would give me that ghostly look, but this CC Cream is photo-friendly; I think this is due to the natural SPF.  I also love that there is no heavy perfume; it smells fresh and clean.

I really love this CC Cream and the finish it gives my skin.  I will definitely be purchasing it again!  It's a great product, especially for women over 40 (that's me!), because it not only color-corrects, it's healthy for your skin.
